ah pilkington, i knew you’d find us sooner or later! don’t think you’re going to fit in that bird box though…
pilkington hasn’t been spotted for a while, so i attempted to immortalise him using my new sewing machine! it was my first attempt at freehand machine embroidery so hopefully there is scope for improvement… lots of fun though.
those of you who remember him from earlier in the year will be delighted to hear of the return of roger the resident robin… not only has he developed a beautiful red breast, but he also had a lady friend in tow. I didn’t manage to get a shot of them both together, but I did get this snap of him looking very handsome amongst the rose buds.
guess who’s back, back again… there was a reported sighting of pilkington in the garden this weekend. didn’t manage to get my camera out in time, but can’t resist posting my favourite image of him lurking in the pyracantha last year. now it’s getting colder i’m going to put some bird seed out for roger the robin. let’s hope he can get there before pilkers!
just discovered this website via pinterest and it looks fantastic. their prints are amazing and the selection is enormous - and what’s more you can get every print in whatever type of fabric you want. even better, if you are feeling especially creative you can design your own print. going to have to put an order in to se if it’s as good as it seems! minor hassle of having to pay international shipping, but it could be worth it.
and while i was at it i knocked up a little bird-shaped rattle too! i secreted some little bells inside and finished it off with some lovley vv rouleaux gold ribbon. not sure she is quite old enough to enjoy it yet, but hopefully it will look pretty in the nursery!
being a very, very proud aunty to my gorgeous new neice clemmie has given me the perfect excuse for a few little sewing projects! number one was a cushion for her nursery…
loving the idea of a floor cushion to soften up a room and this one is just so pretty with the little wren on.
i can’t believe i’m going to say this, but I actually miss pilkington and his ridiculous antics now we’ve moved. Hopefully he’ll find us soon, but in the meantime i adore this pigeon print which would look fab in the new house.
only one unconfirmed sighting of pilkington since the move, but i’m delighted to say that we have been made very welcome in the new garden by roger the resident robin. he is a plucky little character who kept us company during a big clearance of the jungle of overgrown plants. he was extremely helpful keeping morale up and dealing with numerous worms. the husband is very excited about roger and has already put the bird house up and filled it with a few seeds for our new friend. he must be young as he doesn’t have a red breast yet, but hopefully he’ll man up and develop one in time for christmas!
make baking even more fun with these adorable bird cup measures. they’ll look great out on the worktop too when you’re not using them.
dear lord, mr pilkington was practically IN the kitchen this time! i’m surprised he didn’t hop right in and help himself to a knife and fork while he was at it…
gorgeous, simple, elegant hummingbird bookends that will look stunning keeping your books in place and always bring a smile. they’re really good value too - no excuses not to get a pair from www.llustre.com.
