happy birthday to my utterly gorgeous niece who turned one this week. this was my home-made gift to her - a little tee pee which is completely reversible so she can have a pink spotty house or a blue floral one depending on her mood. i was a little nervous as i didn’t make it from a pattern and i was also worried that it might not be a very interesting present for a one year old seeing as it doens’t make any noise or provide much entertainment, but amazingly she absolutely loved it! once she had crawled in she was very content to sit there and hold court and she even allowed her little friend to join her in there at her birthday party! watch this space as i’m seriously considering going into production. they would be a great gift for a little one - a safe, shady spot when they are very small and a great den, hiding place or play house as they get bigger. and they would be very easy to market with models like these ones!
little commission completed for my delectable neice. hope she likes them and enjoys their lovely lavender fragrance. there are cushions to follow in this gorgeous liberty print. at this rate she is going to have the smartest nursery in sw london!

just discovered this website via pinterest and it looks fantastic. their prints are amazing and the selection is enormous - and what’s more you can get every print in whatever type of fabric you want. even better, if you are feeling especially creative you can design your own print. going to have to put an order in to se if it’s as good as it seems! minor hassle of having to pay international shipping, but it could be worth it.
and while i was at it i knocked up a little bird-shaped rattle too! i secreted some little bells inside and finished it off with some lovley vv rouleaux gold ribbon. not sure she is quite old enough to enjoy it yet, but hopefully it will look pretty in the nursery!
being a very, very proud aunty to my gorgeous new neice clemmie has given me the perfect excuse for a few little sewing projects! number one was a cushion for her nursery…
latest sewing project is a collaboration with my mother to produce some bunting for their ruby wedding anniversary party. This is one of the fabrics that made it through the rigorous selection process! pictures of the finished product will follow in due course…
throwing a little baby shower for my big sister and i’m rather proud of how the invites turned out. it’s surprisingly easy to sew onto card and only took a few scraps of fabric to make the triangles for the bunting. will definitely be experimenting with different designs for cards to send to friends.
now we are finally moving i’m determined not to take any wretched moths with us so i’m planning on launching a lavender attack in every drawer. this is a little lavender smellie I made with some fun spotty fabric which took no time at all. just as soon as the sewing machine is unpacked i plan on making a few more.
another commission for the lovley caroline… a little lavender stuffed letter ‘l’ for a newborn baby. i hope it is enjoyed by the recipient and the lavender aromas result in lots of sleeping!
