little commission completed for my delectable neice. hope she likes them and enjoys their lovely lavender fragrance. there are cushions to follow in this gorgeous liberty print. at this rate she is going to have the smartest nursery in sw london!
and while i was at it i knocked up a little bird-shaped rattle too! i secreted some little bells inside and finished it off with some lovley vv rouleaux gold ribbon. not sure she is quite old enough to enjoy it yet, but hopefully it will look pretty in the nursery!
here is the result of a little weekend project for my gorgeous god daughter’s second birthday - it is a twit twoo! he is reversible, so his little wings flap onto each side depending on what colour scheme you fancy.
and here is my first attempt at making a greeting card! quite pleased with the result and i’ll definitely be finding more uses for the gorgeous letter beads which i picked up in paperchase.
these little lavender hearts were a project before christmas so i had plenty of stocking fillers. nice and easy to make using up odd bits of fabric and ribbon and lovely to stick in your wardrobe or knicker drawer! i’m rather sad i ended up giving them all away…
sometimes it is the simplest decorations that are the most beautiful. these fir cones have been in my christmas box for years, yet they still look so gorgeous on the tree and add a lovely warmth and texture next to all the sparkly lights and baubles. now, where’s my glass of mulled wine?
loving playing with my new birthday ipad, but i have to admit i am equally excited about making a little cover for it! here are the results of my first attempt. it’s reversible so i can switch between spots and elephants depending on my mood and when it’s all tied up it looks like a present just asking to be opened…
just completed commission number two! for a little boy this time, so i went for masculine navy and sweet little elephants stuffed with some lovely, fragrant lavender. hope the recipient enjoys it and it sends him to sleep so he doesn’t wake mummy up all night!
was hunting around for a needle a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t find a single one, even though i know i have thousands! so i decided to make a little case to keep them all in so there will be no chance of not being able to locate them next time.
just completed my first order for a lavender stuffed letter ‘e’, hope it is up to scratch! threw in a little birdie to say thank you for being my first commission. plan to sell them on etsy very soon, so watch this space…
look after the birdies this winter at the same time as brightening up the garden or a window with this gorgeous heart shaped feast. they will be very grateful for the food and you can watch them tucking in!

my latest sewing project is these little lavender stuffed letters, which take next to no time to make and are a fab pressie for a little one. especially good if they don’t sleep well as the soothing lavender is lovely and calming in a cot or hanging up in a nursery.
made myself a new laptop cover yesterday in lovely bright colours. it is reversible so i can go for strawberries or spots depending on my mood! will hopefully start selling these on etsy soon, so watch this space…
this time last year a certain little wedding provided the perfect opportunity to tuck into my mother’s amazing sloe gin. we decorated the bottles (with a very apt disclaimer) and put one on each table. needless to say it lasted a matter of minutes and certainly got the party going. we will be off sloe picking in a couple of weeks to replenish stocks!
