pilkington hasn’t been spotted for a while, so i attempted to immortalise him using my new sewing machine! it was my first attempt at freehand machine embroidery so hopefully there is scope for improvement…  lots of fun though.

just discovered this website via pinterest and it looks fantastic.  their prints are amazing and the selection is enormous - and what’s more you can get every print in whatever type of fabric you want.  even better, if you are feeling especially creative you can design your own print.  going to have to put an order in to se if it’s as good as it seems!  minor hassle of having to pay international shipping, but it could be worth it.

and while i was at it i knocked up a little bird-shaped rattle too!  i secreted some little bells inside and finished it off with some lovley vv rouleaux gold ribbon.  not sure she is quite old enough to enjoy it yet, but hopefully it will look pretty in the nursery!

being a very, very proud aunty to my gorgeous new neice clemmie has given me the perfect excuse for a few little sewing projects!  number one was a cushion for her nursery…

latest sewing project is a collaboration with my mother to produce some bunting for their ruby wedding anniversary party.  This is one of the fabrics that made it through the rigorous selection process!  pictures of the finished product will follow in due course…

while unpacking thousands of boxes when we moved i uncovered these little lavender eye pillows which i’d completely forgotten about.  i made a big batch for all my hens as a thank you for a fab weekend in gay paris and while i was at it i made a little heart for me and a j for the husband. could be just the thing for those sunday morning lie-ins…

throwing a little baby shower for my big sister and i’m rather proud of how the invites turned out. it’s surprisingly easy to sew onto card and only took a few scraps of fabric to make the triangles for the bunting. will definitely be experimenting with different designs for cards to send to friends.

now we are finally moving i’m determined not to take any wretched moths with us so i’m planning on launching a lavender attack in every drawer. this is a little lavender smellie I made with some fun spotty fabric which took no time at all. just as soon as the sewing machine is unpacked i plan on making a few more.
