thank you mrs armstrong for my wonderful fabric, hand imported from china no less! i cannot wait to get creative and make some lovely things with it. i especially love the florals and ginghams together, could be the perfect combination for some vintage feel bunting for the new garden when we move…
here is the result of a little weekend project for my gorgeous god daughter’s second birthday - it is a twit twoo! he is reversible, so his little wings flap onto each side depending on what colour scheme you fancy.
new ipad case made from lovely cath kidston fabric which is nice and durable so it can survive the depths of my handbag and being knocked about by fellow commuters in the morning rush. plus, as it’s reversible i can change the look according to my mood!
looking forward to my next sewing project with these pretty vintage feel fabrics. i wonder what they will turn into…
these little lavender hearts were a project before christmas so i had plenty of stocking fillers. nice and easy to make using up odd bits of fabric and ribbon and lovely to stick in your wardrobe or knicker drawer! i’m rather sad i ended up giving them all away…
i am so pleased with my gorgeous new sewing box. it was actually a pre-christmas present to myself as i just couldn’t resist it when i found it. my mother has one almost exactly the same and it makes me feel so nostalgic opening the lid and revealing all the secret little boxes underneath.
so 2012 has offiially started and the new year brings our first ever inter-marital knitting contest. this is the first time either of us have ever knitted anything and the husband is clearly taking this very seriously as he already has a blister and is threatening to get his knitting needles out on the train to work tomorrow! can you guess which is mine and which is the husband’s? or more importantly what they are going to be?! updates to follow…
just purchased a gorgeous selection of embroidery thread from morley’s, our little department store in tootingshire! they have a surprisingly good haberdashery department and i frequently pop in to get little bits and bobs. especially handy being so close as i inevitably run out of something crucial when i am in the middle of a project.
looking forward to a sewing session with these lovely pink fabrics to make a few stocking fillers…
jingle bells, jingle bells! just completed my first christmas craft project which is this sweet little robin garland to adorn the fireplace over the festive season. the shiny bells give them an added touch as they sparkle in the candle light and jingle musically if you give them a tickle!
loving playing with my new birthday ipad, but i have to admit i am equally excited about making a little cover for it! here are the results of my first attempt. it’s reversible so i can switch between spots and elephants depending on my mood and when it’s all tied up it looks like a present just asking to be opened…
jingle bells! getting ready for my first christmas craft project… I particularly love the red fabric, surely it’s perfect for a robin’s breast or a reindeer’s nose!
just completed commission number two! for a little boy this time, so i went for masculine navy and sweet little elephants stuffed with some lovely, fragrant lavender. hope the recipient enjoys it and it sends him to sleep so he doesn’t wake mummy up all night!
